Module 3 From Confronting Others to Expressing Yourself
Module 3 From Confronting Others to Expressing Yourself
Expressing yourself and giving feedback in ways that are effective, motivational, inspirational and connecting – that is what this training is about.
Thoughtful communication is essential when you want to express yourself or give feedback with clarity. It’s more than about speaking from the “I” perspective; it’s about consciously speaking from your needs. Do you recognize that feedback is often given with the best intentions and is still experienced as criticism and met with defensiveness? Do you experience challenge in letting your voice be heard from a place of honesty? Feedback in organizations is seen as an important part of a learning culture. How do you do that while maintaining healthy relationships?
Module 3 is part of the “Intensive for Professionals.” With this most popular training you register for all three modules at once and receive a €250 discount.
Components of this training:
- Why feedback often doesn't work and what does.
- Feedback and appreciation that stimulate growth.
- Respectfully discussing unproductive behavior.
- Dealing with emotional reactions.
Why this Training
In order to create a learning environment, safety and trust are the basis. You learn to consciously distinguish between giving feedback (in the form of thoughts) and expressing yourself in a connecting way (including needs). Step by step you will communicate clearly and respectfully what you value and what you would like to see change, without judgement or reproach. Equity and psychological safety are central to this approach. You purposefully encourage change in behavior through people’s own motivation. In this way you contribute to a learning environment where there is both cooperation and growth.
- Prepare a feedback conversation and get to the essence with minimal words.
- Clearly express what you want to say and empathetically receive the reaction to your message.
- Effective feedback skills, an approach that inspires people to want to develop themselves from a place of engagement and pleasure.
- Choose words that avoid blame and guilt or judging about what is right and wrong.
- Shift the focus from what the other person is “doing wrong” to what is important for you.
- Make clear requests to jointly search for solutions that work for everyone.
